  12. the illustration to the left, 
  13. foreshortening has been 
  14. isolated from other usual 
  15. concomitants of perspective. 
  16. Equally spaced horizontal 
  17. contours on a ground plane are 
  18. represented as decreasingly 
  19. separated vertically. One can 
  20. achieve an impression of depth 
  21. from it. Accordingly, one 
  22. achieves a size illusion in 
  23. viewing equal vertical extents 
  24. on it.
